| In October 1953, Jack Padova and Connie “Moose” Urban persuaded Harold Gill Reuschlein, newly-appointed Dean of the Villanova Law School, to form a group that would perform secular as well as sacred music. One of Dean Reuschlein’s conditions was that it could not be called a “glee club,” so Moose Urban proposed the name “Villanova Singers.” And now, 54 years later, the rest is history. We were honored to have Jack and Moose, along with several of their Singer classmates, at the Legacy Event. (For more information on the early history of the Singers, visit the HISTORY section of this site.) |
